  • THE MERRY MISTAKE written by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward

This short Christmas story is easy to read and written so well you don’t want it to finish that soon. The beginning is hilarious: an encounter between a girl who just wants to be kind and a boy who’s mistaken for a homeless will lead to funny consequences. From here on we have the chance to know how good this girl is. She’ll befriend her 80 years old neighbor and help him through life struggles. Thanks to him, she’ll have the opportunity to demonstrate how good she is in her job, too. It’s a Christmas story so it’s obvious she’ll have her happy ending. But what will it be? I suggest you to read it, it’s too good to miss out.

  • FINDING PERFECT written by Colleen Hoover

The author says that this short story is easier to understand once you read “Finding Cinderella” and “All your perfects” because it ties them together. Actually, since I haven’t read them, I found no difficulty at all understanding the story, since it explains what happened before.

I loved this short novel. In this one we read about Love, yes, the one with the capital letter, in which you know it’s going to be fine, at the end, because the people involved are deeply in love, positive and trustful.

I liked reading it, I loved how it’s written and how easy it is to understand the characters’ psychology, even not knowing them well enough. It was not an easy subject though, but the author was impressive in easing the tension. It has been an emotional short trip and I’m really glad I made it. I suggest you to read it!

All your perfects” perché li lega insieme.

  • A ROCK CHICK CHRISTMAS written by Kristen Ashley

Well… I had some difficulties reading this story. Since I’m not a native English speaker, I found it difficult to understand that slang. I’m sorry but I didn’t like the story that much, either. We read about love for family but only at the end. At the beginning the only thing we continue reading is how bored and pissed the main character is about holidays and his wife and her friends’ freaking out about those holidays. Both the male and the female figures turn out badly: men complain and do almost nothing, while women freak out and scream.

I don’t think this is a Christmas story…it’s just taking place around that time of the year.

  • JUST SAY WHEN written by Jill Shalvis

This is a very short Christmas story. It’s about love and trust, it’s about understanding that fears takes us away from happiness. I really liked it but the story could have happened in whatever time of the year: the only connection to Christmas is that the author says it’s Christmas.

It’s very well written and easy to read. Thanks to the author we very easily understand the characters psychology and effortlessly dive into the story.

I recommend it!

  • THE PACT written by Elle Kennedy

This story is about love and making time for each other. It begins in a weird way, but then it all clears up. It’s a funny but also intense story. We have two young adults trying to be together: he’s a professional hockey player and she’s a college student. They have hard time seeing each other because of their commitments but they’re always trying to find a way to be there for one another. They are important, they matter to each other. That’s what love is: being there whenever you can, make time for the other person. This story happens days after Christmas, but it’s everything about what Christmas really is: love, attention for other people, kindness. I recommend this story!

  • THE PACKAGE written by K. Bromberg

This story is a special gift to readers. Not so original but so well written you want to know what happens next.

It’s about a strange encounter in a blocked elevator where a young woman blurts out everything that has gone wrong on that day to a handsome man who never says who he is. Well, he never says it, but we’re very aware of who he is. What does this encounter lead to? Is Christmas give her something nice o will it actually be her worst one? You only have to read this story to find out. And I suggest you to do it!

It’s a funny, ironic story that lead to some heat… Not exactly the typical Christmas chilly climate.

Final review:

I loved it. I’ve never read a collection of Christmas stories and I’m now asking myself: “Why?”

I liked that they’re all different but they have a common thread: love. Love is what makes the world spinning and when Christmas is on the background… it’s always better! I hope you’re going to enjoy it as much as I’ve done…or even more!

Recensione finale:

L’ho amato.
